A good place to start planning your holiday is to establish the accommodation that best suits your needs and then look beyond that to the activities, cafes and events that you might like to enjoy while on your travels.



Below we have listed those local businesses from accommodation providers to entertainment that identify themselves as being accessible. Each has made a commitment on their website to specifically advise their patrons of the accessibility and inclusive services they provide.

Fun, inexpensive, accessible and inclusive options for eating out on your holiday is to enjoy a BBQ at one of the dozens of stunning parks and public spaces in the Eurobodalla.  Click HERE for a full list including their facilities.



There are NO cafes listed below as most claim to be wheelchair accessible however when you look at the true accessibility of their bathroom they are often found wanting. A list will be developed following a visual assessment. In the meantime refer to our Town Pages where you will find all known eating options so that you can ring ahead to verify they can cater for your specific needs. 



Major clubs are a good place to begin as many do have disabled car spaces, ramps, lifts and dedicated all ability toilets.

FISHING: Accessible Fishing Platforms

Batemans Bay, Moruya, Narooma

There are three accessible fishing platforms (with railings) adjacent to the water (and a carpark) that are perfect for fishing. South Durras, Quarry Park at Moruya and Mill Bay Walkway in Narooma. The Nelligen, Batemans Bay Wharf, Moruya Wharf and  Tuross boatshed jetty are accessible however these do NOT have safety railings.

 

WHALE WATCHING

Tuross Head and Dalmeny

Tuross Head and Dalmeny both have accessible viewing platforms that get you up close with any whale that happens to be passing by. At Tuross Head visit One Tree Point. In Dalmeny visit the viewing platform in Ocean Parade. 



To our north, out of Huskkinson is Jervis Bay Wild who have a vessel that accommodates all abilities with a roll-on/roll-off ramp, disable toilets and a derrick that allows a person to be lowered to experience snorkling and dolphin watching.


 

BEACH WHEELCHAIRS: Beach Wheelchairs Available

There are several beach wheelchairs available in Eurobodalla

 

The beach wheelchairs provide and improve access to the beach. The child and adult size all terrain beach wheelchairs ensure children in particular have access to and are included in mainstream activities such as visiting the beach.

Batehaven: available at Clyde View Holiday Park opp the shopping centre at Batehaven for hire thanks to a joint project by the Park, the Bay Push and the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club. They are available to the public to hire ph 44724224. 1 adult and 1 child chair. The chairs are also next to Corrigans Reserve where the accessible playground is located.

GO FOR AN EXPLORE: Great cycleways and pathways

The Eurobodalla has a wide selection of accessible pathways to explore that are all weather, safe, away from the road and interesting. Most have access to additional facilities are are readily accessible by car. From cycleways by the sea, the lake or the river there is much to explore.

 

BATEMANS BAY: Botanical Gardens

Princes Highway – 5kms south of Batemans Bay

The Botanic Gardens want everyone to enjoy their Garden so they provide accessible parking and easy access to much of the site. There are accessible toilets in their Visitor Centre and at the Children’s Play Space. Several kilometres of low gradient paths give access to the display gardens and the Arboretum. Paths are stroller and wheelchair friendly and a wheelchair is available for loan. Ph The Gardens Cafe:  4471 2400

 

BATEMANS BAY: Perry Street Cinemas

Citi Centre Arcade Perry St Batemans Bay

To enable people to travel to all levels within the complex there is a Hiro 320 platform lift. It has a maximum weight carrying capacity of 180kgs and can carry a seated or standing person, pram, wheel chair patron or small scooter and rider up to the weight capacity of up to 180kg. The chair lift is located in our main entrance adjacent to the Perry St carpark. If possible please ring ahead of time and arrive at least 20 min before the movie to allow the projectionist to operate the lift. 



For patrons with hearing difficulties, each cinema is fitted with a hearing loop to work with your hearing aids. Please talk to our friendly staff for more information. Hearing Aid Loops are “turned on” in all four auditoriums for people using hearing aids

 

BATEMANS BAY: Sailability

Located in Batemasn Bay

Sailability Batemans Bay is an enthusiastic club committed to encouraging fun and freedom on the water. They sail using four 2.3 and one 303 Access dinghy, and also have one Servo assisted dinghy. They sail alternate Sundays and Mondays, from September until April,from the little beach on the North side of the Batemans Bay Bridge, next to On the Pier Restaurant.

 

BATEHAVEN: Corrigans Reserve Wheelchair Friendly Facilities

The Bay Push in conjunction with the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club have installed a wheelchair friendly boardwalk that will also take prams, etc. to the shore at Corrigans Reserve Beach. There are two water wheelchairs that may be borrowed free of charge. Bookings may be made at Clyde View Caravan Park – Phone: 4472 4224.

 

BATEHAVEN: Bay Push all-inclusive, all-seasons playground at Corrigans Reserve

The Bay Push together with Eurobodalla Shire Council have built an all-inclusive, all-seasons playground at Corrigans Reserve at Batehaven. Moruya and Narooma also have all-accessible playgrounds at Gundary Oval, Campbell St Moruya and Rotary Park, Wharf Road, Narooma

 

MOGO ZOO: Excellent accessibility to all exhibits

Mogo Zoo is a privately owned zoo that supports an amazing collection of endangered and exotic animal species. Beach Road, Batemans Bay

With spectacular 180-degree views of the Clyde River and the Bay, the Gold Po Loy Restaurant / Bistro is the perfect place to enjoy a great selection of Chinese, Thai and Australian meals.



Accessibility:

  • The front and rear entrances have automated glass sliding doors.

  • We have a lift available for people unable to use the stairs or the escalators.

  • Ramps are positioned in the restaurant and small function rooms

  • There are 4 large disabled toilets situated throughout the building – 2 have baby change tables in them.

  • One dedicated parent room/baby change area in the large Auditorium

  • Wheelchairs are provided on the ground floor entrance for guests when required

  • A sound loop hearing system has been installed throughout the club. This hearing loop provides a magnetic, wireless signal that is picked up by the hearing aid when it is set to a Telecoil setting.

Lakesea have a  cabin that is at ground level with a ramped access. 3 Bedrooms – 2 x Queen Bedrooms and 1 x Bunkroom, 2 Bathrooms – Ensuite in ALL bedrooms, Spacious Lounge and Dining areas, Large Flat Screen TV and DVD, LCD TV in Main Bedroom, Full Kitchen,Air Conditioning, Private balcony with timber outdoor settings and gas bbq’s. Though not a fully compliant disabled bathroom it has rails in the shower, the shower is wheel chair accessible and there is a hand shower.



For those who might like to camp there is a dedicated disabled toilet in the camping area.

 

BATEMANS BAY North: Easts Holiday Park

Wharf Road, Batemans Bay

The accommodation they have is NOT accessible however it has been used successfully in the past by wheel chair guest who have found the ramp, the spaciousness and the double shower space suitable. The shower does NOT have rails nor a hand held shower rose. The unit is described as a Waterfront Condo Spa. There are good photos at this link for your consideration.

This budget level motel provides a queen and single room that has an open accessible shower, shower stool, and hand rails. The motel is very near to Batemans Bay and is connected by an excellent cycleway opposite that skirts the foreshore. Ask for room 17. Ph 4472 4805

There are two studio rooms completely fitted out to the standards required for wheel chair access. These have a queen and a single bed and are fully self-contained. There is also ramp access to the BBQ pool area which offers wonderful views of the ocean to Montague Island. Across the road Amooran Cottage, although it does not totally meet accessibility standards, is ground floor with ramp access, wide doorways and shower enabling wheelchair movement around the house. The ground floor Executive Gully suite has views to the west of the motel. Through the trees you can see peeks of the inlet and some spectacular sunsets. Off the generous sized living area (with basic kitchenette) is the bedroom with queen bed and the ensuite bathroom. There is a also a single bed in the living area. NAROOMA: Clark Bay Farm

  • Cottage 1  has a ceiling hoist in one bedroom for people with a disability.

  • Cottages 1-3 have two bedrooms each and sleep up to 6, with cabin 4 having four bedrooms sleeping 6.

  • Cottages 1 and 2 have en-suite bathrooms to each bedroom featuring hobless showers, 1/4 turn long handled taps, with fixed and hand held showers. Cottage 3 has one main bathroom with a bath. Cottage 4 has two accessible bathrooms and an additional toilet and sink.

  • All cottages have been built for accessibility, and there are no steps!

  • Ramps have a gentle slope of 1 in 20, and three Cabins have automatic doors. Inside there are also wide wheelchair friendly doors and Cabin 1 has a ceiling hoist in one bedroom. Ph 44761640
