South Coast Travel Guide website was officially launched on November 1st 2017
Just in time for the summer season on the NSW South Coast this, comprehensive, one stop website was launched to cover everything a visitor needs to know of the 110kms of Eurobodalla coastline, from South Durras to The Tilbas.
I acknowledge that to most the South Coast stretches from Wollongong to the Victorian border. It is comprised of three regions, Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla and the Sapphire Coast. This website covers the Eurobodalla and promotes its fellow regions to the north and south. It is hoped that in doing so it rids the concept of legislative boundaries and presents instead the South Coast as a whole experience as you seamlessly drift from one regions to another.
The South Coast Travel Guide website was set up to provide details of the Must Do’s and Must See’s along with maps, videos, history, and guides.
It was essential to include ALL key tourism activities and tourism service providers as well as ALL eating options throughout the shire giving visitors the best information possible in order to plan and enjoy their holiday.
The website is my initiative as a long time resident of Tuross Head and the editor and publisher of the Eurobodalla free on-line newspaper, The Beagle.
“The 2017 summer season was fast approaching and I realised that only a handful of our many local tourism service providers were easily found on the internet.
“Searching required you to bounce in and out of several websites such as VisitNSW, Trip Advisor, Facebook, and Eurobodalla Tourism and it soon became obvious that these sites were incomplete in their listings or out of date. I appreciate the contributions made by those sites to the promotion of local tourism and feel that the South Coast Travel Guide is not an alternate but an adjunct information source.
“Researching a holiday should be fun and all the necessary information and options should be available to help plan the best holiday possible.
“The South Coast Travel Guide website was created to provide a one-stop shop for all of the essential visitor information while also proactively supporting our local tourism economy.
“I know the importance of tourism in our area and the vital role it plays in our economy. We are a seasonal destination and the cooler months see a drop off in visitor numbers so it is critical our local tourism businesses can prosper as best they can during the shoulder and high seasons as they are major employers and the backbone of our economy.
“I also understand that businesses are time poor and for this reason we proactively listed every tourism related food business I could find on our Eating Out Map.
“Along with comprehensive coverage of every town in the region saves time for the visitor and lets people know what is available before they arrive”.
“Nearly everyone travels with the internet today and they want immediate access to balanced, informative and up to date information for their holiday plans.
“The South Coast Travel Guide website provides that service, in an easy to navigate website, that is able to be used on all devices.”
I hope you enjoy the website.
